Luxury Hotels & Spas, Pampered Experiences
myhotel Chelsea, London.
Do you ever feel like escaping your life for a few days just for a break and to experience something different? Last month I whisked my mum and myself off to London as she wanted to see the London eye. I took her on one condition – that she would be going on the eye by herself as I have difficulty standing on a stool, never mind getting into a small glass ball that transports you up past Big Ben.
So we set off after booking an hotel online from www.myhotels.com, we stayed at Myhotel Chelsea.
This hotel was central to most of the places we wanted to visit and the nearest tube station was a short walk away. As soon as we arrived I loved it. The outside appearance was a dream to those who share a passion for all things old. The building used to be a Police Station and the hotel designers kept as much of the original features as possible. The reception was gorgeous. Beautifully panelled desks and antique furniture painted white – a perfect mix of both old and new. Fresh fruit filled water and dainty cups were waiting, beside an old vintage cake stand with fresh muffins. This added to the welcoming atmosphere the hotel provided.
Our room was a Superior Double and looked exactly as it did in the brochure. Perfectly plumped huge pillows, luxurious bed-linen and sash windows with fabulous velvet curtains framing the view of Victorian Chelsea perfectly.
The en-suite was ample in size with luxury toiletries for the guests. It is the little things that make all the difference, and myhotel Chelsea have tended to these with style.
Mum was delighted with the hotel as well, and we dined in for breakfast, dinner, and we even ordered room service.
The food served was from the World Tapas restaurant and this was just scrumptious. We enjoyed a selection of expertly cooked tapas which included olives, cheeses, breads and prawn dishes.
Breakfast was never ending. We sampled the fruits and cheeses, then gave up trying to be heathy and tucked into our favourite, an English fry. This was delicious, with the best quality ingredients perfectly cooked and presented. Thick sliced bacon with mouth-watering mushroons were washed down with barista style coffee. We were able to relax while enjoying breakfast in this ambient unhurried environment.
Our stay was short but we have has a lovely taster and will book with this hotel for our next trip. Just out of interest, I did accompany my mum on the London eye and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
