Clayton Hotel Belfast
If you are heading to the big city of Belfast there is no better time to do so than at Christmas. We ventured to the Belfast Christmas Markets and stayed overnight at Clayton Hotel Belfast which turned out to be an excellent choice.
Clayton Hotel Belfast was the perfect place to arrive at night as their display of Christmas lights were fantastic.
The hotel itself was decorated inside and outside with various Christmas displays and different sized trees beautifully lit up.
These really appealed to the kids sense of fun and I found the Christmas spirit to be evident throughout the hotel.
Our room was perfectly made up with a huge bed and additional beds for the kids. When I travel without the kids I prefer to all be in one room or in inter-connecting rooms. This is not always an easy request for a hotel but to Clayton Hotel Belfast – nothing was too much.
Our facilities were spotless, I don’t make a habit of photographing bathrooms but this one surpassed my expectations.
As per what you would expect, there was a delightful mini range of toiletries.
The Clayton Hotel had provided us with excellent tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits and hot chocolate sachets. These were appreciated by the kids before they settled down for the night.
I appreciated the Lilly O’Brien’s chocolates and bottled water – my little treat when the kids went to sleep!
Before we ‘hit the hey’ as we say in Ireland, we headed out to the Christmas Markets. The Clayton Hotel is in a perfect location to visit Belfast as its literally 5 minutes walk from the City Hall. You could not choose a better situated hotel whether you are heading to Belfast to shop or for the nightlife.
I am completely convinced that the Belfast Christmas Markets are the best in Europe – don’t let this opportunity pass you by if you have the chance to visit.
After a restful nights sleep we had a beautiful breakfast. My daughter is the complete opposite to myself in that she is so ‘health conscious’! She was thrilled when she entered the dining area to a welcoming sign:
The vitality selection was pretty great. Jenny was having a ‘field day’ with the selection of freshly squeezed juices.
Clayton Hotel Belfast is the only hotel I have visited (and there have been quite a few!) to provide detox water. I am not considered to be a healthy mum, I enjoy my gin a little too much, but I love detox water in the morning – my husband says its probably why I am still alive! If you have yet to try this, please do. Its a fab mix of water, lemon, lime and cucumber and its very good for cleansing the system after a little over indulgence.
After breakfast drinks we moved onto a delightful fresh fruit selection with natural yoghurt.
Fruit was followed or accompanied with nuts and seeds – these were fresh and delicious.
My younger daughter and my son opted to skip the more healthy option and opted for a filling full English breakfast. This was served buffet style and it was truly enjoyed by all.
What a better way to spend the morning than in the hotel spa. We all had a fun morning and the kids enjoyed splashing about in the pool. I was able to utilize the free hotel Wi-Fi which was very fast, I might add, and got caught up on some work while they were being entertained.
Checkout came all too soon but we didn’t end our trip before a superb shopping spree around a wonderful city.
