New You Boot Camp, Somerset.
Calling all busy people who tend to put work and/or family first! This is the ‘holiday’ for you – The New You Boot Camp.
The New You Boot Camp will help you regain your fitness and, in turn, your health by putting your needs first in a unique and personalised fitness programme.
There are quite a few New You Boot Camps to choose from – Spain, London and Somerset . They all aim for the same result – to help us make changes in our lives which will result in a healthier and fitter body. This is reflected in how we feel and also measured by inch and weight loss. The average weight loss being 9.2Ibs and 9.7 inches – impressive, isn’t it?
Alongside these benefits, New You Boot Camp will give support and teach us how to make these healthy lifestyle choices permanent in our lives by training and education. This includes cookery classes, an important factor overlooked by similar fitness camps which concentrate only on a ‘No pain no gain’ philosophy. After spending time at a New You Boot Camp you will want to make the changes a permanent fixture in your life, and you will have the tools to enable you to make this happen.
Pampered Presents has had the pleasure of receiving ‘inside information’ from a recent attendee who absolutely loved the experience and described it as ‘life changing’. Read on to find out why…
‘I jumped at the chance of attending a New You Boot Camp, being a keen but flagging health and fitness person, always seeking the perfect solution to get rid of that nagging weight, a constant battle. I really needed a kickstart with my regime. However as the time got nearer, I seriously had second thoughts, what exactly had I let myself in for? With more than a little trepidation I set off to experience a week at the New You Boot Camp in Somerset . The setting was a beautiful country house, Sparkford Hall and we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful manager Clarissa. I had a beautiful double room to myself but other room styles and layouts were available.
I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of exercises and particularly enjoyed the military games and LOVED the boxing! Two 12 and 15 mile hikes through the Somerset countryside were nothing short of idyllic, rambling through fields of corn, uphill and down dale, glimpsing hidden quaint villages.
The food was really surprising on a number of counts, we had no salads, wheat, dairy and very little sugar or fruit. We ate small portions of delicious food cooked by the affable chef Colin, who also gave cookery demonstrations and helpful tips over the week. I have a big appetite and was resigned to a tough week with hunger pangs to the fore but I was surprised, no stunned, that I was not hungry once during the week. Mary Lou Harris, nutritionist, gave a series of excellent lectures explaining the thinking behind the food plan and was very generous with her information.
I really did drop a size in the week and was overjoyed with my weight and inches lost (7.4lbs & 21.9ins), I feel that the NYBC’s live up to their claim to be a ‘life changing experience’ as I for one, feel well equipped to march forward into the next stage of my life loving the new routine and lifestyle that goes with the NYBC ethos.
I was delighted with the comprehensive package that the New You Boot Camp turned out to be. Whilst I wouldn’t say it is pampering in the traditional way, I felt half way through that my actual body was having a break from the wrong food.
I think that the NYBC is not for the faint hearted, you need good stamina to get through an average of 6 hours of exercise a day. The first two days were extremely tough and sleep was a distant friend, so sore was my body and many of the campers had the same experience. Fortunately there was a sauna available to ease the aching bones. Massages were also available at an extra charge. To get the best out of this fantastic experience I strongly recommend having some level of fitness before starting. Siobhan October 2013.’
