This is not my first BAM review and I am hoping it won’t be the last – I ADORE their clothes!
The ethos behind the company is ‘perfect’ and I wish other manufactures would follow suit. BAM strive to ensure everyone gets a fair deal from the factory workers to the customers.

BAM also have made the amazing pledge, planting a tree in the name of the purchaser for every order made! That is so cool! To date, they have donated over £10,000 to Rainforest Foundation and Rainforest Concern. Are you impressed yet? Read on..

Why Bamboo, surely cotton is better?? Well, no actually!

bamboo

  • Bamboo thrives naturally without using any pesticides or fertilizers.
  • Bamboo fibre is 100% biodegradable.
  • Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world. It spreads rapidly across large areas.
  • As a grass, bamboo is cut, not uprooted, helping soil stability.
  • Bamboo grows on hill slopes where nothing else is viable.
  • The yield (i.e. the amount of product) you get from an acre of bamboo is 10 times greaterthan the yeld you get from cotton. In an age where land use is under enormous pressure this is huge.
  • The water requirement for bamboo is minute, mainly just from what falls. As opposed to cotton, whose water requirement per shirt’s-worth is monstrous.

In contrast, ‘Synthetic performance fabrics are made from petrochemicals, a non-renewable fossil fuel. They go to make clothes which get smelly really quickly.’ (Bambooclothing.co.uk)

Bamboo is the most sustainable resource in the world and will one day lead the clothing market away totally from cotton! That will lead to a better world for us all.

As a mum of 3 who works part-time running the roads as a community health worker, I am one of the busiest people I know. I more than appreciate my days off and make the most of them tripping the kids here and there never missing a fun day out.  Today is the second day of the summer holidays and we have already made it to the beach – so proud!
Leisure wear is rarely flattering and I have not yet resorted to ‘track suits’ – and never will. However, leggings rule! Black leggings are a stable in my wardrobe – I must have at least 6 pairs varying in length and from different stores both local and online. Every single one of my friends have just as many pairs of black leggings as I do so they are definitely the most purchased fashion accessory on the planet.  I call them an accessory as they can be worn with so many other items of clothing giving many different looks.
The leggings I have tried from BAM can be found here.
I wear size 10-12 so I ordered a size 10. This was a good call as there are perfect – lovely and tight fitting, but not too tight. With leggings you need them to be tight – loose leggings do NOTHING for anyone – not even Katie Perry could successfully pull these off as a fashion statement.
leggings
The waistband of my BAM leggings is simply made and designed with  mums in mind – wide and high so all is pulled in and held firm. No flabby bits and no bulges visible,  just a nice smooth physique.
The second most important property the perfect leggings should possess is that they are really black – not transparent when they are worn. At the bottom of my wardrobe I have a few ’emergency’ pairs – these are for when the washing has piled up and there are no other leggings to wear! These ones are from Benetton and Next – my 2 favourite shops but they ‘fall short’ in the legging department. One pair has ripped and the other almost requires a fake tan application underneath, they are so thin.
I love my 3/4 length ‘Enduro’ BAM leggings, they are perfect fitting, truly black and they wash like new. I wear them lounging around the house, I have worn them when running the local 10K and I wear them dressed up with a tunic or shirt. I have them at least a month and they are still like new. They have held both their shape and colour and I couldn’t recommend these more. Try them – for the bargain price of £32.00 they are a must for any wardrobe.
The sun downer top is perfect for this time of year – and what a cool name as well!
hoodie
Famously smooth to the touch, this top is both comfortable and cosy. The material feels silky next to the skin as Bamboo does and the relaxed fit would suit all shapes. I wear this with my leggings and also over 3/4 length jeans at this time of year. If I am heading out for a walk I will bring it to tie around my waist as it is not bulky nor heavy. It is also perfect for pottering around the garden on cool summer evenings.

The colours available are white and greystone. I choose greystone simply as I reckoned it would be easier kept clean with 3 kids running around under my feet although the white looked really well too.
BAM is also a great site to pick up a few pieces of gym and yoga wear. With a fab selection of colours and styles combined with the quality BAM are now known for, once you have made a few purchases this is a site you will keep returning to as I do.
Sundowner hoodie now £32, was £40!
