I have a few recommendations that really caught my eye and would appeal to my hubby this Father’s Day. I wanted to move away from chocolates and tins of sweets – he is not getting any younger nor thinner. Husbands are a refection of your own taste so I want to keep him looking hot for as long as possible!
The Grip Go is a handy gadget for holding your phone in the car. Why am I only discovering this now? No more searching for the phone in the car when it has slipped from one side of the dashboard to the other.
Grip Go adheres to the dash with a suction cup and this can be moved around 360 degrees so you really can position it to suit yourself away from the glare of the sun etc. The phone then sticks to the mount with a sticky pad and, believe me, there is no way this will come off when you are driving. I love the Grip Go and would recommend it to anyone for their dad this Father’s Day. It is handy, useful and very reasonably priced at £9.99.

Atom X, this sounds like something you would find in a science lab! A mysterious Atom called X that will eradicate world poverty – I wish! Atom X is a lot simpler that its’ name would suggest. It is basically the smallest electric shaver I have ever seen.
Does your dad camp or travel around a lot? If so, this would be perfect. The Atom X has many properties a more expensive shaver would also have. it is suitable for use in water, portable, battery operated and easily cleaned.

Yale Stand Alone Alarm.
We live on the outskirts of a large town and every now and then I hear of a ‘run’ of burglaries in the neighborhood. I am fairly confident our alarm system is up to scratch but what about the toys and gardening equipment outside? I adore my little Jack Russel and every shopping trip I take, I always return with either a new lead, a new bed or some little chewy treat for him. I have been through 3 leads to date despite only having the dog just over one year! Camping Specialbuys from Aldi.
Camping, you either love it or hate it. I love it, I think… In fact, ask me again after the summer holidays! We have yet to venture further than the back garden but this summer we have big plans. Kitted out with the necessary accessories I plan to haul the kids from the furthermost Northern point of Ireland to the glorious South. We live on the most beautiful island and it is such a pity the majority of people pay thousands to visit Spain every year. I appreciate the many local attractions and scenery and would love the kids to grow up with a sense of pride from their upbringing on the Emerald Isle.
Working part-time has its benefits as I feel I am ‘there’ for the kids when they need me but financial impact is huge. We are topping up our camping accessories this year from Aldi. Why pay more? It was the opening title of the description of this phone which really caught my eye – Designed to withstand tough everyday situations! If anyone qualifies for a phone like this, I sure do. The Gigaset E630A was made for me!
Any mum on the planet can relate to me when I say this – running a household with 3 kids, a dog and a husband is not easy. With so much emphasis put on mums in the media, we constantly strive to be ‘perfect’ or simply the best mum we can be at all times.

The All New Badge-it.
My entire family enjoy using Badge-it. Hours and hours has been spent sitting around the table designing and making individual little masterpieces.
Badge-It from Bandai is an multi-award winning toy, which allows children to make their own badges quickly and easily. It looks trendy and has survived my household, so its’ definitely sturdy! The badges are metal and they will stand the test of time.
They are a good way of jazzing up a school bag, pencil case and clothes accessories. I have even used Badge-it to make co-ordinating badges for special clothes to cover a stain or a hole – ingenious I thought!
The starter set contains the badge maker and materials to make 15x3cm badges.
Refills can be bought very cheap (£9 for 30 badges) so the fun goes on and on!

Kingston MobileLite Wireless Reader.
Kingston MobileLite Wireless Reader, what is it?
This is a small media reader and wireless streamer with a built in battery to enable phones to be charged from it.
It is simple to use. There is an on off button and that’s about it. Attach it to a PC and the battery charges up and it will read SD cards as well. The USB slot will take a USB memory stick and read files from it and wirelessly transmit them to either Apple or Android devices. You can store loads of files on a USB stick and read them wirelessly on the Android device without using up the limited memory.
To use it you need to download an app from Google Play for Android or Apple Store for iPads etc.
The unit has a built in battery (Kingston claim the battery will last for 5 hours, I wouldn’t disagree with that statement) that can be used to charge up a phone or iPod battery. I tried this on my Samsung S4 Mini and it charged the battery up so will be very useful if I am away from a power source.
My overall impression would be positive. This is a compact gadget that does lots of things. In fact one which I did not realise how much I would use it for. It’s a useful SD card reader, charger and media streamer and saves using up the limited memory on iPhones, I pads and Android devices. I am sure anyone who buys this will get a lot of use from it especially those on the move who like to take lots of media files with them. This is one of those gadgets that’s actually very useful indeed!
We used to travel with a 7” car DVD player and a stash of DVDs to keep our kids entertained on long journeys, whether by car or plane.
Last year I bought a tablet which the kids love for games. This meant carrying yet another device around… until I discovered downloaded movies for the tablet. I quickly realised that not having to carry a DVD player and a fat DVD wallet around is great but that the built-in 16GB storage space of the tablet, partly used up by Apps and other stuff, doesn’t leave much space for movies.
That’s when I decided to give the Mobilelite Wireless a try. It turned out to be easy to use, works reliably and with PLENTY of movies stored on a 32 GB SD card we took this along on our two week vacation. The beach turned out to be much more attractive then any movies we had brought along and the kids actually didn’t watch much at all. However for the journey back home we had a nine hour flight ahead of us and had promised the kids one movie before “lights out” when the flight attendant announced that the in-flight entertainment system was broken. There were some very disappointed passengers on the flight, including my 9-year old and my 5-year old who was about to have a very public melt down.
This is when the Mobilelite Wireless came to the rescue and showed it’s true potential: I switched it on and within minutes one child watched her movie of choice on the Nexus 7 whereas the other one used my iPhone to watch a different one. Eventually, my wife decided to pull out her Galaxy SIII phone and enjoyed a third movie. All three devices obviously had the respective Android or iOS MobileLite Wireless App installed.
Result: Definitely one happy family on that flight thanks to Kingston.

I was so excited with this product and have concluded it is a brilliant buy. There are times I have given my 4 year old son my iPhone 5 to play a game because I have been very busy, under pressure, or even trying to talk on the landline. I have cringed inside – is it really worth the risk – 10 minutes peace in exchange for a cracked or broken phone?
