Jamela Grape Seed Eye Cream and Lotus Serum.
I have to admit to a certain amount of vanity and resenting the aging process a little! I don’t go overboard but I would swear by cleansing, toning and moisturising daily. I have used a facial moisturiser and an eye cream for 20 years and like to think they are doing a great job!
However, as 40 draws near, I am now using a serum as recommended by a beautician. Your skin needs something extra from the age of 35yrs onwards and I have spent some time researching what to use.
The Jamela skincare range impressed me as they back up everything they use in their creams, and explain why these are beneficial. The website is easily navigated and best of all, the price is what I would call ‘middle of the range’ – not too cheap or too expensive.
Grape Seed anti-wrinkle Overnight Eye Cream.
Fine lines and wrinkles are not welcome and I hate to see them appearing! I have selected this eye cream as this is specifically what is deals with.
The Grape Seed eye cream is anti-wrinkle, lifting, nourishing and revitalising. Many eye creams devide these benefits into several products and leave you wondering which to choose but Jamela have all my concerns in one product.
‘The combination of ingredients have been specially formulated to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, with the additional benefits of nourishing and revilatising tired skin around the eyes.
Grape Seed Oil helps to increase the production of elastin, while the animo acid moisturiser and Jojoba Oil with its inherent emollient properties will moisturise and tighten the skin to create a healthier, lifted appearance.’ (Jamela)
This eye cream is to be used at night, sparingly. RRP £19.75 for 40gm Tub.
I am very pleased with the result. My skin feels soft and hydrated. Lines do appear diminished, definitely less pronounced. This is excellent value compared to other creams on the market that only claim to deal with certain aspects of ageing.
I am also using the Lotus Intensive Hydrating Serum. Jamela have 3 different serums and I selected this one as it deals with hydration issues – I firmly believe if skin is hydrated through drinking enough water and moisturising, we will reduce the signs of aging.
This is another product that claims multiple benefits:
- Firming
- Renewing
- Anti-Wrinkle
- Improves Elasticity
- Healing
- Cleansing
‘Jamela-Lotus Intensive Hydrating Serum is an advanced proprietary hydro-glycolic extract blend that is rich in collagen, animo acids and biostimulins. Containing no components of animal origin, this product is derived from hydrolyzed plant collagen and lotus extract and is designed to offer a composition that mimics natural biological effects.
The special hydrating formula with lotus placenta can increase skin firmness promote the growth of collagen, stimulate cell renewal, and improve skin cell excretion, absorption processes, and supresses black pigments, as well as eliminating old and decayed cuticles. Continuous application will reduce fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, loss of elasticity and improve dull skin tone, scarring and wound healing. This fast absorbing hydrating serum will keep your skin hydrated for at least 8 hours.’ (Jamela)
Ladies, if it is skin like velvet you crave – this is the product for you! I adore this serum. My skin instantly feels smooth and as soft as velvet. This feeling stays all day and I would also notice that when I have the heat on while driving the car, my skin no longer feels like it is drying out.
Excellent value for only £17.
I strongly recommend you try these products and see for yourself how spending less can actually do more for your skin.
Put Jamela on your wish list and email it to your hubby now! I have just selected further products and am really looking forward to Christmas day!

My 1st Years Christmas range.
Christmas shopping for babies is very difficult. Babies will have received lots of baby gifts and their first Christmas is a difficult occasion to shop for, for fear of buying ‘doubles’ or unnecessary items just for the sake of giving a gift.
Within my family there are 11 children and we very cleverly agreed that each adult buys for 3 children. This drastically cuts the cost of Christmas and reduces the ‘clutter’ of toys each child receives. I thought I had ‘drew the short straw’ this year having to buy for the latest arrival – little Bailie!
Bailie’s baby gifts are still being shipped to my sisters’ door, and she does not need teddies, clothes, first tooth/curl holders and all the usual bumph. Fortunately, I didn’t have to look further that ‘My First Years’!
If you are shopping for a young child or even a baby gift, there are loads of gorgeous and unusual gifts on site – very reasonably priced also.
I selected the Hessian Gift Sack. Wow, I had no idea it was so big! This sack will hold lots of toys and teddies and in later years, when Bailie is helping mum around the house, it will hold her laundry! The Hessian sack has a huge heart on the centre with ‘Bailie’ embroidered on it, it is just gorgeous and I can’t wait till Christmas day to give it to her.
The Hessian sacks come beautifully presented in a luxury gift box, adding an extra special touch to this luxury gift.
RRP £20
Dimensions 90cmx60cm.
Have a look at the website. It is very well designed and easily navigated.
The new Christmas range includes a white crockery breakfast set which can also be personalised and also delivered in a luxury gift box.
I can also recommend the 1st Years Christmas bauble. I love these and each of my children have one representing their first Christmas.
Lots of choice and really good value make this site well worth a visit for your Christmas shopping this year.

yurbuds Earphones.
I love listening to music and in the past I would have ran for exercise and really enjoyed it. I recall jogging and my earphones were always falling out – wish yurbuds were around at that time! My exercise now takes the form of housework mostly, but I still manage to fit in short walks with my dog every day. I wear yurbuds to listen to music on the go.
I have tried several forms of earphones over the years and will use yurbuds FOREVER! They never ever fall out! Run, jog, race around with a duster or vacuum cleaner, these will stay put.
Some technical info:
‘TwistLock Technology : yurbuds TwistLock into place for a secure fit that never falls out, even under the most intense workout conditions.
These sweat & water-resistant yurbuds allow for ambient noise awareness and deliver consistent, premium sound
Available in six colors
Compatible with all smart phones, tablets, computers and audio devices featuring a 1/8″ (3.5mm) headphone jack.
20Hz-20kHz frequency response – Neodymium magnet’ (yurbuds)
I am including yurbuds on Pampered Presents at this time of year for a reason. Millions of people choose to get fit after Christmas. People join gymns, start walking and running and keep fit classes book out. This seems to be a combination of trying to lose some of the extra pounds gained over the festive season and the aim to get a bikini body in time for the holidays.
yurbuds would make an excellent Christmas gift for these reasons. Have a look at www.yurbuds.co.uk.
Various styles, colours and sizes are available. Priced from £29.99.
yurbuds have won the Gold award in Men’s Running Magazine, they really do as they say on the box. Available from Wiggle, Sweatshop and Runners Need.

Otone Audio Accento Speaker
Looking for stocking fillers this Christmas for the man in your life? Otone audio have lots of items to suit everyone, whether you are shopping for a teenager or your hubby.
The range of speakers vary, as does the price, so you can be sure to find a speaker to suit all budgets.
I went for the Accento speaker. This was an excellent choice as it will actually fit into a stocking!! It is very cool and trendy looking. We have the black and chrome version but you can go retro and choose the flag design instead.
The speaker allows music to be played from a smartphone or mp3 device while out and about. Perfect for my hubby as he loves his ‘vintage’ vehicles – (Scrappers!) which do not have a listening device. He can take his speaker out to the garage, and on one of his mountain trips in his old series 3 landrover! He will be delighted on Christmas morning as he has been looking for a small high quality speaker for some time.
The Otone range will not let you down. Speakers are what they ‘do’ and they do this very well, with a certain touch of class. They really do think their products through, for example, the Accento comes with an integrated rechargeable lithium battery. This gives 8 hours playback, so perfect for day trips away as well.
The Accento retails at £29.99 but in reality it looks way more than this price. A very classy speaker, exceptional sound quality and very well priced.

Cat B15 Smartphone.
This phone was MADE for my hubby – or so he thinks! He loves it and has hardly set it down over the last 2 weeks.
The Cat B15 smartphone was on his ‘wish list’ for some time. My man would ‘research’ items, basically, this means he reads every article ever written and every review published before he chooses any gadget!

5 Second Rule.
Suitable for children as young as 8yrs old, this is one of the best family games you can buy. Perfect for Sundays with the kids, and perfect for Saturday nights with your friends too! We can all get carried away with this game and sometimes we get very loud indeed!
Name 3 things – for example, that you brush, that you may find under the sofa, you can paint, and so on. The longer you play, the more ridiculous the answers you come up with. I love it! Lots of laughter and fun all round to be had with this fast paced game.
Players take it in turn in the ‘hot seat’ and the winner has 5 seconds to answer the question. Moves can be made forward with a ‘pass on’ and ‘switch’ card, thing can become very confusing – in a fun way!
Available from most major retailers RRP £19.99

BLACK by Black n’ Red.
I have been using Black n’ Red hardback notebooks for quite some time now. They simply are the best quality hardback notebook available. My teenage daughters use them for school also, they need books that will take abuse and not fall apart after a few months of rattling around a school bag.
Their new range is aptly called BLACK and I am addicted already!
The paper is 90gsm, which is that little bit heavier than most other notebooks. This means that ink pens and highlighters will not bleed through the pages.
I also love the fact that the paper is nice and smooth to the touch. The spine is strong but yet flexible so the book can be opened fully without a hump forming near the centre, which makes writing so much easier. The hardback cover is quite thick, which also prolongs the life of the book. Black n’ Red Notebooks have a ribbon for bookmarking, which is a nice traditional touch.
These books may seem a little more expensive than other brands on the market but you get what you pay for and if you want your Hardback notebook to last, well, these are the sensible choice.
A4 is priced at £17.99, A5 at £13.49 and A6 at £9.99.
The BLACK by Black n’ Red range is available from stockists including Amazon.co.uk and Staples. The full stockist list is available to view online: http://www.blacknred.com/stockists.html.
