Playbulb Rainbow and Playbulb Candle

Playbulb Rainbow and Playbulb Candle would make an excellent stocking filler for your teenage daughter or even your ‘tweenage’ daughter. I have these stashed away for my 12 year old and I know she will be delighted. Candles are somewhat a ‘bad’ word in our house. I have ran out the door way too often and had to return to blow a candle out! We have therefore concluded, or rather dad has, that it is safer if we don’t burn candles at all!! sob! Never fear – Playbulb to the rescue – you can have the ambiance without the fire hazard.

What exactly is a Playbulb – I did not know either until I set myself the task of reviewing one. A Playbulb is in the form of a lightbulb as shown above. They are compatible with most iPhones, iPads, and Android devices.

The colour of the lightbulb can be controlled by downloading the free Playbulb mobile app available from the App Store and Google Play. Wonderful colourful ambiance can be easily created and you can even set a ‘wake-up’ timer so you can rise to your favorite colour!

My daughter can almost create the exact ambiance achieved from a candle with the Playbulb Candle – this is really fab as it looks like a candle and and even be used upside-down to hold a real candle (If you are permitted to light them!).

The Playbulb Candle brightness and colour can be controlled via the App as you can the Playbulb Rainbow. However, the Candle can even be ‘blew out’ just like a real candle or you can simply tap the edge of the light to shut off – how cool is that!!  A huge plus is that this is waterproof so it can be safely used in the bathroom. You can settle down in the bath amid the bubbles with your Playbulb Rainbow gently glowing with your choice of dim colours – the perfect bath time experience in my opinion as I recall from my ‘pre-kids’ years!
