How many times have you had to leave your pet at home and spent the day wondering if he/she was ok – or if they had managed to break into the fridge!!

I have a Little Jack Russel and he is one in a million. He can sniff out the postman at 400 paces and no bird ever dares land on our lawn. Apart from having to ‘scoop the poop’ I have no disadvantages to keeping a pet at all.

I work – part-time and not for long hours but I do worry about him alone. This is why I was soon keen to try out the Motorola Scout 85.

This is a nifty little monitor that you can set to watch your pet and you can check in on the ‘goings on’ via your smartphone. I wish I had invented this as this is going to be a huge hit – I can see every pet owner wanting one. (Now, I know what some of you might be thinking and yes, I thought of it as well – this is not intended to monitor your kids while you are at the hairdresser! Kids cannot be left alone whether they are monitored via camera or otherwise).

The Motorola Scout 85 is simple to use – I figured this out by myself so its literally ‘fail-safe’. All you need is a smartphone – iPhone or Android and a wifi connection. The camera can move 300 degrees so as you cover a wide area. You can even have 2 way audio – talk to your pet and he will talk back – I am convinced Tyke knows exactly what we say to him so why not use the Scout 85 to reassure your pet when he is home alone?

The folks at Motorola have thought of everything – you can even keep an eye on your pet at night with the night vision function.

Lastly, I want to mention the temperature function – the Scout 85 can let you know if the room is too hot or cold – yet another good reason to invest in this super little gadget.

Since I have been using the Scout 85 I have the peace of mind to leave my little doggie alone for short periods and I can know he is OK – and so is the house! I can keep an eye on his behaviour, on what he is chewing (he usually waits till I leave and then picks up a slipper or a barbie doll!) and even the room temp so I know my pooch is safe and comfortable.
