Prefunc
Prefunc – this has got to be one of the cheapest products we have tried on Pampered Products – but it is also the most invaluable!!
Don’t we all love a night out? Mine are down to 2 per year now and they both take place in December – I put this down to having 3 jobs and 3 kids! It is because of my busy schedule that after one of my rare nights out, I have to be able to focus 100% the next day – than you Prefunc!
This lifestyle management drink has been 6 years in the making and wow – it works! The official launch was in US cities and now Prefunc is available in the UK. You will find it stocked in bars, clubs and stores and also online. A 59ml shot will cost £5.
What does it do and what is in it? I hear you ask with interest! Firstly, Prefunc is natural – it contains fruits, herbs and spices all which work to ensure you have a good morning after a good night out. It is not a synthetic drug but a well researched natural supplement. Not bad for £5 is it?
Prefunc can be taken before, during or after your night out, so no worries if you head out and forget to take it – in fact, when I was ‘testing’ this, I took it at 1am just before getting into bed. The next morning I woke up and thought, ‘Strange – no headache’! Fantastic, my tummy doesn’t hold alcohol very well and I would usually feel ‘rough’ the morning after. I felt absolutely fine.
I think this drink is an amazing idea, for a very good price. If you compare a shot of Prefunc to a pint of beer or a cocktail there is not much difference in the price. However, you will appreciate the difference the next morning!
Would I buy this for my 2 nights out every December – YES! Try it and see for yourself – this is one product so many people will be thankful for. Prefunc has filled a huge gap in the market and this revolutionary product will continue to succeed for this reason.

Gringa Dairy Queso Fresco Cheese.
Gringa Dairy Queso Fresco is a cheese with a difference. Produced here in the UK by Kristen Schnepp, an American lady who now lives in London and produces this wonderful cheese. It is being marketed as a cheese suitable for Mexican dishes as it is quite tangy and a little bit salty. I think it is so delicious it would complement any dish you are cooking, even my kids love it. Basically it looks like feta cheese but without the strong salty flavour.
Gringa Dairy Queso Fresco is made solely from organic milk, sourced from an organic farm in Kent and is a soft white cheese. I use it in fajitas and enchiladas but it also works well in simple dishes such as macaroni cheese.
I like the fact that it is produced locally, and it is a little bit different than the run of the mill cheeses you get in the supermarket. This company is passionate about supporting British farming which we love here on Pampered Presents.
Gringa Dairy produces other Mexican cheeses also like Queso Chihuahua and Queso Oaxaca.

Rolly’s Brownies.
Who doesn’t love Brownies?? I adore them and have made them using many recipes on many occasions. I was 100% sure, you cannot buy Brownies quite as good as you can make at home – until I tried Rolly’s Brownies.
These delicious Brownies are famous for their ‘home-made’ taste, having featured in The London Evening Standard, Vogue and The Sunday Telegraph. They will shortly also feature in Glamour Magazine – you can’t get better coverage than that!!
As you now know, at Pampered Presents we love all things home-made, locally sourced and as natural as possible. We are therefore proud to have Rolly’s Brownies on Pampered Presents. These super gorgeous Brownies are made in Weymouth, using local ingredients – free range eggs of course! and organic flour.
Baked to order, you cannot get fresher and I was so excited when mine arrived in the post. They came in a tube and in an inner box so they were in perfect condition. The box was lovely – they say we taste first with our eyes!! That is so true. These were expertly presented and on opening, the smell drove my little Jack Russel mad!
Rolly’s Brownies can customise their deliveries with gift cards, I think this is a great idea and they would be a delicious gift to send to the ‘foodie’ in your life.
Each box contains 6 pieces weighing over 400g.

Rick Stein’s India Gift Set.
What do give a ‘curry purist’ this Christmas? Rick Stein’s India of course!
I can think of nothing my brother-in-law would love more. Over the past few years he has started to cook, with a tendency to vere towards spicy foods and curries. My sister is loving this new ‘phase’ and wishes it to continue! This Christmas secret Santa is presenting him with the ingredients to recreate the recipes from Rick Stein’s India, and the book as well – what a gift!
The TV series was hugely popular and following this success Spices of India has put together a starter gift set to enable the likes of you and I to recreate these fabulous recipes. The kit includes:
‘Rick Stein’s India cookbook
Amchur (Mango) Powder, 100g, adds a pleasing sourness to many Northern Indian dishes.
Asafoetida powder – Hing Vandevi, 50g, a pungent ground resin which tastes like garlic and onions.
Black Salt (Kala Namak powder), 100g, often sprinkled over nuts and snacks.
Black Cardamom, 50g, often used in rice and dal dishes and has a smoky flavour.
Kashmiri Chilli Powder, 75g, milder than most chillies and adds a rich deep-red colour to many curries.
Millet (Bajra) Flour, 500g, the key to making authentic flat breads.
Kokum, 200g, a dried fruit which has the same flavour-balancing technique as adding vinegar or lemon juice.
Mustard Oil, 250ml, very hard to buy in the west and is essential for truly Indian chutney’s.
Mustard Seeds, 100g, often used at the spice tempering stage of most curries.
Screwpine (Kewra) Water, 200ml, a fragrant essence of the pandan leaf which is often poured on rice to perfume it.

Baru Belgain Chocolates.
New for 2013 and in time for Christmas, Baru have released some gorgeous luxury chocolates. This Belgain chocolate company have products selling in stores like John Lewis, Harvey Nichols and Wholefoods.
I am the perfect person to tell you about these as chocolate and myself as the best of friends! I like to think of myself as a connaisseur, not an addict. I can enjoy chocolate at any time of day, breakfast time included! However, I would be quite fussy and prefer chocolate to be Belgain and the presentation plays an important part in the tasting experience.
My eyes and tastebuds certainly had a treat with Baru. I sampled some chocolate hippos and chocolate mallows. Both were elegantly presented and screamed gorgeous before they reached my mouth.
The praline Hippos were delicious, rich thick chocolate surrounding a smooth praline centre. My children helped ‘test’ the mallows and the only problem was that we wanted more!
It is important to mention that Baru’s foods are all natural, with no artificial flavourings, colours or preservatives – just honest to goodness delicious chocolate!
Have a look in-store or online at the Baru range. You will be delighted with the variety and quality and the luxurious presentation makes them a must for someone special this Christmas. RRP from £2.50.

Tate and Lyle Treacle.
Treacle is one of my store cupboard essentials. As soon as the end of the tin is nearing, I add another to the shopping list. I have found so many scrummy recipes with treacle that I make time and time again because of raving reviews from the tasters! Tate and Lyle treacle (and syrup for that matter…) is the ‘real McCoy,’ I refuse to use any other brand.
My treacle-coated Gammon is loved by all and the sticky coating makes the crackling extra tasty, my kids have physically fought over who gets the most!
I also use treacle for Sticky Ginger Pudding. I tried it without the treacle and it’s just not as rich and sticky. My kids love making treacle cookies every Halloween and they decorate these as monster faces and spiders, a really original treat to take to parties!
This Halloween Tate and Lyle have really ‘treated’ us with the spooky decorated treacle tins. Along with treacle, they now have fiendish snacks. Why not try the Spooky Popcorn Balls and Witch’s Fingers?
Available from several stores across the UK from 88p per tin.
