Makie Doll.
Dolls, I adore them and get so much pleasure from watching and listening to my girls play with their dolls. They started out with Baby Born and not have moved on to Barbie, Bratz and Monster High. This ‘role play’ plays an important part of our children’s development and I am forever encouraging this type of play.
Aside from the numerous dolls available to buy on the market today, can you imagine designing your own doll completely from ‘scratch’ and having this doll created conforming to your design and arriving boxed on your door step within 2 weeks?? Sounds a bit far- fetched doesn’t it? I thought so too, but was wrong.

I was so excited with this and couldn’t wait to try out this doll making experience. What a gift to present to a little girl – or even a boy as male macho dolls can also be created! This scarf is from the ‘Glam Gothic’ collection and I adore this vintage themed range. Inspiration is taken from the Medieval era, with emphasis on the dressage of Kings and Queens. Would you wear a traditional trapper hat? It has been so cold in Ireland over the last few winters I have seen all sorts of hats parading past the window! I have worn this hat although it belongs to my hubby. I was never one who agreed with the saying ‘Pride before Pain’. My sister can squeeze her feet into anything that looks good and is never out of heels. However, I am all for comfort. This trapper hat may not feature on the ‘Hottest hat list’ in Cosmo, but it is the warmest and most comfortable hat you will find no matter how hard you search. They are also beginning to have a younger following, so yes, I think I will have to borrow this again when the winter sets in. Forever Freinds Christmas Gift Collection.
Forever Friends will never let you down if you are shopping for gifts for babies, young children or even teenagers. First created in 1987, this company is now one of the most well known companies producing a host of items ranging from baby gifts to cute sentimental keepsakes adorned with the little Forever Friends Bears.
The Christmas 2013 range is beautiful. Excuse the pun, but Forever Friends are ‘forever’ updating their image and their products. They also produce a great magazine and have a terrific website for children.
I have been lucky enough to try a selection of the newer items and have mu children’s stockings filled nicely to the brim with lots of Forever Friends goodies.

My 10 year old daughter has the travel mug. This is just gorgeous, a beautifully decorated pink mug with a sip cap to prevent spillages. I have yet to find a product like this – most travel mugs are designed for adults and are rather boring. This one is so nice, I quite fancy it myself for taking to work. The size is also perfect – not too thick so it fits in the cup holder in the car. A very well thought out product that would also make an excellent birthday gift as well as a stocking filler.

I simply have to mention my favourite Forever Friends item – the iconic plush bear. I have gave numerous amounts of these as baby gifts, along with the little comforters. They come with a pink or blue trim/ribbon and are simply the softest teddy bears ever. The bears are 8” tall and their lovely smiley faces and very huggable fur make these bears very hard to set down. RRP £10
The Forever Friends Baby Comforter is also £10 and another great gift for a baby at birth and at Christmas. This is a beautiful boxed set which includes a Forever friends little bear holding a comfort blanket. It is available with the blanket trimmed in blue or pink. I never quite ‘caught on’ to a comforter until I had children and seen how much they loved these cute and extremely soft blankets with a teddy attached. All my children had one and it’s only when I look at baby photos, and the comforters are present in almost every photo, do I realise just how loved these were.
We can also adorn our Christmas Trees with beautiful Forever Friends baubles. Whether you choose ‘Babies first Christmas’ or ‘A Special Christmas Wish’, these will look great on your tree and perfect as a special ‘first Christmas’ gift.

The gaming experience the Wikipad has to offer has to be tried to be believed. Connecting via micro USB, this tablet is super fast and has the added bonus of automatically updating to the latest OS in weeks.
My children all use the Wikipad. The controls are designed expertly and are as easily used in the hands of my 4 year old as well as my 10 year old. The controller’s U shape makes for very easy gaming especially with the likes of driving and shooting games, which would not be as easily played on other basic 7” tablets which are limited with a just a touchscreen.

No more watching movies with that horrible black bar and cropped picture! We can even connect the Wikipad to the TV via the HDMI port.

Could this tablet get any better? Do you SKYPE? The Wikipad has a built in microphone and a front facing camera – SKYPING is simple and so easy. I am left with one problem to report with this tablet – one Wikipad is not going to be enough! You will love the Wikipad and so will your children. I know it will take the place of most other tablets on the market. I have never used such an advanced device that also offers solutions to the problems encountered while gaming with an ordinary touchscreen tablet.
